Over the River and Through the Woods

We went up to Randolph, Utah to visit my grandparents. The boys kept on talking about how Grandma Love is my Grandma, and she’s their grandma’s mommy. Roger thought it was so funny that he and Grandpa were both named Roger.

My grandparents live on a ranch, and it is always so much fun to see the animals. Lambing season had just ended, so we were excited to see the baby lambs. They were so cute and little. It was interesting though because there were some sheep that had to be caged with their babies, in hopes that the mother sheep would start nursing and caring for her baby. So many of those caged mother sheep were mean, kicking and butting heads with the baby lamb that was seeking the badly needed nourishment. It was so sad and frustrating to see. We would get after the bad mothers, but they would continue acting that way. The saddest part is that there are human mothers that act this way towards their babies. The boys ran all around the ranch. Hugging dogs twice their size Carrying old cow bones around Driving around on the 4-wheeler Throwing rocks into puddles and all this was fun until you landed in the puddle getting your pants and legs all wet.

But things got better when the boys got to ride a horse. William kept on saying, “I’m a cow-boy!”

Grant just got to watch

My grandma’s stray and wild cat just had kittens two weeks prior to us coming. Of course my mom challenged all the kids to try catching the poor little kittens. Well, they were caught, and were my kids ever so happy about them. I woke William up to one of themI have never seen him awaken in a better mood. He had to hold the kitten for the next hour.

As fun as the ranch was with all of the animals, the best part was seeing my grandparents. They are sweet people, and always a joy to visit. My grandma knows how to cook for company, and when visiting her, if you go hungry, it’s your own fault.
