Zoo Day

Todd had the day off, so we decided to go to the zoo, especially since he will be leaving Sunday for a four week rotation in Columbus (sniff sniff). On the way to the zoo, Todd got a page stating that his TB test is due and that he cannot start his rotation without it, so he actually had to leave the zoo a little early. But he still got some time in.

Todd's favorite activity was playing "the wagon is going to crash" with the boys. He would push the wagon and send it on it's way. The boys, of course, found this to be hilarious. I will need to get their IQs checked.

Roger was in a very friendly mood while out. He would stop and while waving his hand say "Hi" to random strangers and animals. He even stopped at a slow concession stand to say Hi to the lady. He kept on saying Hi to the camels, who didn't answer back.
They had an animal petting area (with goats and donkeys). William kept on calling the donkeys "Nae" - and not after my sister Nae, but for the noise horses make. Roger would point to the goats and say, "He's kinda like a doggie, kinda like Joey".

Mikey was enjoying the goats with Todd, until one snapped at him. After that he kept his distance.
LeNae met us there after her classes were over, and good thing too because it would have been difficult for me to continue after Todd left without her. The boys absolutely love her, so they'll actually listen to her while they will disobey me with no problem.

We saw a group of elderly people from a nursing home - or maybe it was an assisted living home. Looking at the few people they had to push the wheelchairs, I felt pretty good about my group. After watching them for a bit I concluded that it would have been easier to take the zoo to the nursing home - transporting an elephant and dealing with a lion would have been so much easier than what the caretakers were going through.

While admiring an animal, a couple of the old grandmas kept on staring at my boys. One woman must have said something about the boys for the caretaker said, "I know but we're here to look at the animals, not the children". (hehe, I LOVE old people)

This was the last weekend that the zoo was hosting this special "Touch" exhibit in which we got to touch stingrays. It was awesome, and by far the boys favorite part. Mikey has actually been carrying around a toy stingray the last little bit, so it was perfect.

At first I didn't think the boys would be able to touch a stingray because they were swimming on the bottom of the pool and their poor little arms just aren't long enough to reach that far. LeNae accidental put William's nose in the water attempting to reach his arm further.
But the stingrays soon started swimming near the top also. The boys loved this and would yell, "YES! I touch a 'tingray". Even William got excited. Grant was just excited that his brothers were leaving him alone.
